Girls Rock Bloomington Music Lab is a series of four workshops for girls, trans and non-binary youth ages 8-14. Join us Tuesdays after school September 19th - October 10th at the FAR Center for Contemporary Arts. Individual workshops are $25, but if you purchase all 4 workshops together, you get a discounted rate of $20/ per workshop for a total of $80 for the entire Music Lab Series! Sponsored by FAR Center for Contemporary Arts and WFHB Youth Radio.

1. 9/19 You Rock the Ukulele Workshop
Tuesday September 19th 5:00 PM - 6:30 PM
Learn how to play this versatile and accessible instrument. This class combines techniques for learning the basics of strumming chords and easy fingerpicking. No experience is necessary, gear is provided.

2. 9/26 Songwriting with Jenn Cristy Workshop
Tuesday September 26th 5:00 PM - 6:30
Dig into the basics of songwriting in a collaborative, supportive environment with nationally renowned songwriter, Jenn Cristy. Cristy has played around the country, sharing the stage with a veritable who's-who of artists – Kelly Clarkson, Bob Seger, Pentatonix, Paramore, Shawn Mullins, John Eddie, Bree Sharp, Jeffery Gaines, and Michael Gabliki (Rusted Root) –or dominating it herself. Don't miss the chance to study the craft of songwriting with this Bloomington based legend!

3. 10/3 How to be a Radio DJ Workshop
Tuesday October 3rd 5:00 PM - 6:00 PM
Each participant will get the chance to learn about DJing on the radio and will work in groups to create a theme song and backing music for WFHB's Youth Radio Program!

4. 10/10 Merch Making Workshop
Tuesday October 10th 5:00 PM - 6:30 PM
Make your own buttons, learn how to screen print and create album art or a band logo! Supplies are provided.
