Bridges MAYO - Summer Chamber Music Program
Tocando Para La Paz
Cost
FREE - no registration required
Location
505 West 4th St. Bloomington, IN
Our program, "Tocando Para La Paz- Playing for Peace," is made possible thanks to a grant from the Bloomington Arts Commission. Young musicians throughout the Bloomington area, ages 8-18 and representing 10 different schools, gather together into small groups and work with our Bridges MAYO faculty to learn the magic of chamber music (or as we like to think of it, social music making). The program will feature a myriad of genres and time periods, including folk songs from near and far, movie music, fiddle tunes, and classical repertoire. We'll include music of Harry T. Burleigh, Antonio Vivaldi, Madelena Cassulana, Joseph Haydn, Marta Gómez, and more. This year's teachers include: Dena El Saffar, Kevin Flynn, Yeonglee Kim, Maggie Olivo, Esteban Hernández Parra, and Erica Rubis.
