Join us for our third annual Block Party + the Gallery Walk opening reception of Claire Warden's series, Mimesis, Friday, June 3rd from 5 to 9pm.

Mimesis will be on view at Pictura Gallery June 3rd - August 26th. Artist, Claire Warden, physically manipulates sheets of photographic film to create black and white abstract forms. These compositions appear almost topographic or celestial, hovering on the edge of being recognizable. Viewers are left with the desire to know exactly what they are. Warden uses this visual tension to speak about knowledge and power, and the cultural pressure to clearly define individual identities.
