The class is part of the FAR Photo Workshop Series, a monthly series covering different topics.

In this beginner's workshop, learn and understand the basic principles of studio lighting. Local photographer Anna Powell Denton will demonstrate lighting a portrait, discuss various techniques, and provide the opportunity to direct and photograph a model to create your own portrait. The class will take place at Anna's studio down the street from FAR. Please bring your own digital camera to use.

About the instructor:

Anna Powell Denton is a photographer and filmmaker based in Bloomington, Indiana. She works with both digital and film formats specializing in editorial portraiture and documentary photography.
