Take a look back with us at a year's worth of kids programming in Pictura Gallery. We learned about various bodies of work, met professional photographers and created art with Ms. Hilary inspired by the exhibitions on view and had our very own kids exhibition!
About Pictura Kids
Pictura Kids is a free, monthly art educational series for kids in collaboration with the current exhibition in Pictura Gallery. Our goal is to make contemporary photography more accessible to a young audience by giving them time and space with the work, teaching them about the exhibiting artist/s and giving them a chance to respond to the work through conversation and guided art projects. Art activities are led by Teaching Artist, Hilary Cannon Anderson. Our past projects have included everything from polaroid photography, to story telling and painting with various mediums.
Pictura Kids workshops take place during the MCCSC school semester every first Saturday of the month at 11am. They follow our Gallery Walk First Friday openings and are ideal for ages 6+ or 4+ with a caregiver. To make these workshops accessible, we provide them at no cost. Registration is required.
